There is a difference between a Riding School and a Riding Academy. Schools teach students to ride, while Riding Academy's are Full Teaching Academy's. You will learn theory and Full Care of the animal, as if maybe one day, you have a horse of your own. We have Class Time and Barn Time. This means not all lessons will be on the back of a horse. This is a year round Academy, teaching Western Pleasure.

Malinda Scott is an admirable, inspiring, courageous and honest woman. Her dream to have her own ranch has been realized these last few years because of her drive, determination and discipline to succeed. This success is shared by the friends and family that volunteer their time on the ranch. Her loving nature and personality are contagious. She can win over the toughest of horses, children and adults.
Loving and caring for horses and children seem to go hand-in-hand with Malinda. She is constantly surrounded by eager children who want nothing more than her attention, admiration and approval. Malinda has worked hard and diligently through life's stressful demands to continue to see her dream grow into a successful reality. Being able to teach others to ride, care, and respect horses just seems to be a reward of her chosen profession and life long dream.
Malinda's approach to children is in many ways the same as her approach to an injured or neglected horse. Malinda starts the rejuvenating process by rebuilding their mental health and slowly bringing along their physical health to the point of absolute serenity and freedom. Through her nurturing ways she carefully and thoughtfully gains their trust. Soon they learn not only to trust her, but to trust themselves in their new environment.
Spending time with Malinda and her horses builds character, increases confidence, teaches respect, responsibility and teamwork. Being on the ranch isn't always fun and games. There are endless daily chores on a horse ranch. Doing daily chores on this ranch with Malinda for her rescued horses is more of a privilege and honor than it is work. Whether you are driving a tractor, cleaning stalls or grooming a horse, it's the feeling of companionship and working together that is your reward.
